Halland

Halland is the province of the western coast, fameous for its beaches and the open landscape and the many wind turbines that is places almost everywhere on the great yellow fields. The residential city of the Hallands län is Halmstad with 55 000 people. Halland is divided into six municipalities, these are Halmstad, Laholm, Hylte, Falkenberg, Varberg and Kungsbacka.

Malmö

Malmö

Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden, located at Öresund were its neighbour, Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark lies at the other side. Malmö is reffered as the most dangerous city in Sweden with alot higher criminality than in both Göteborg and Stockholm. Bechause of its location, close to the continental Europe, many large groups of immigrants have came to live here. This caused that many nazi groups are active here, and right-hand populistic parties have became very popular in the politic. Malmö is otherwise a multicultural city. The most fameous building in the city is the Turning Torso, a large twisted tower that was ment to be for offices, but bechause of the expensive price that costed to build it resulted in that Turning Torso now is a place for apartments and living... expencive apartments.

Skåne

Skåne, the most southern province of Sweden, sometimes called the "bloodiest place in Europe" cause of its history. No other place have ever been occupied as many times as Skåne, as it switch country between Sweden and Denmark. The accent of the people in Skåne is very different from other accents in Sweden and have many similarities with danish. In Denmark some people call the scanian accent for "eastern danish" while its sometimes (more often) is referred as "southern swedish". Even today there is danish historians, scientists and even a politician that say it would be more natural if Skåne again would belong to Denmark, some people in Stockholm actually agree with this.

However, Skåne is the province were Sweden's third largest city is located, Malmö wich is connected to the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, via the Öresund Bridge (Öresundsbron) wich is the longest bridge in Europe. The distance between Sweden and Denmark in this area is sometimes so small that its possible to the the neignoring country from the other side, not lookint that far away at all, and between Helsingborg, Sweden and Helsingör, Denmark the trips with ferries only take about 15 minutes. Many swedish people preffer to work in Copenhagen cause the money they win there is more, and many danish people preffer to live in Sweden cause the apartments and houses are cheaper there. This comminucation over the sea has developed almost like a city, and sometimes Malmö+Copenhagen is called Örestad (Öre-town).

Mörbylånga is the municipality located on the southern half of Öland. Ölandsbron, the bridge wich connect Öland to Småland is located here and leads strait to Kalmar, the residential city of this region. In Mörbylånga there is also to see the Öland Zoo (Ölands Djurpark).

Borgholm

Borgholm municipality is located at the northern half of Öland. It is here were the Borgholm Castle Ruin lies outside the town of Borgholm. It is also here the Solliden Castle is located, surrounded by great gardens of trees and flowers.

Öland

Öland is the second largest island of Sweden, and the second island-province. Öland is a very slim island and close to the shore of Småland. It is connected with the mainpland by the Ölandsbron, second largest bridge in Sweden (or first largest if we only count the swedish part of Öresundsbron). In opposite to Gotland, Öland is not a län, in fact Öland is a part of Kalmar län.

Öland is fameous for its many windmills, there is no other place in the country were so many windmills is to be seen as in Öland.

The island is seperated in two municipalities, in the south it is Mörbylånga municipality and in the north it is Borgholm municipality. Outside the town of Borgholm lies the old Borgholm Castle Ruin and not far from there the royal summer palace Solliden Castle were the royal family lives at summer and were Crown Princess Victoria in tradition always celebrate her birthday. In the south, in Mörbylånga municipality there is the theme park/zoo called Ölands

Djurpark wich is very fameous.

Television in Sweden

Television in Sweden was long limited to only one tv channel until the year 1969 came and TV2 started to send. These two channels were both public service wich mean they get their money from the state and from all those people who have tv at home and thereby are forced to pay the obligatoric tv-livence tax. Comercial in Sweden was thereby and still today forbidden by the law. First 1988 when TV3 started to send the swedish people could see comercial in tv. The studio of TV is within Sweden, but bechause of the law, they send from London, wich means this channel is a brittish tv-channel in swedish. Thanks to this TV3 can avoid the Swedish law that ban comercial in tv. TV4 is a very unique tv channel, it is sent from Sweden and is public service, but still they manage to send comercial, wich is the only fully swedish public service channel that is allowed to send tv comercial. Today the swedes can watch as many tv channels as any other West European country. This is the nine tv channels that follow each other in numeriologic line.

SVT 1, the first tv-channel in Sweden, owned by the public-servie company of SVT (Sveriges Television). SVT has many other tv channels like SVT2 (before called TV2) and SVT B, SVT Europa, UR, Kunskapskanalen and SVT24.

SVT2, once called TV2, is the second tv channel in Sweden, also owned by the company SVT. At its start, this channel only sent one film each day to differ it from the first channel that was more focused in culture and news broadcasting.

TV3, the third tv-channel in Sweden that start to send the year 1988. This is also the first tv-channel sent in Sweden were comercial was to be seen. It is owned by the comercialistic company MTG and is sent from United Kingdom. TV3 have many sister channels like TV6, ZTV, TV8, VIASAT NATURE, VIASAT ACTION, TV1000 and many others.

TV4, a tv-channel sent from Sweden, owned by the company TV4 AB. This channel was unique bechause its a hybrid between public-service channel and comercialistic channel. It was very fortunate and the company today owns many other tv channels wich all is more or less clones of TV4, like TV4 PLUS, TV400, TV4 Film, TV4 Fakta, TV4 Guld, TV4 Sport, TV4 Komedi, TV4 Science Fiction.

Kanal 5, the fifth tv-channel, owned by SBS Broadcasting, its sent from London to Sweden. Its sister channel is Kanal 9.


TV6, sister channel to TV3 and owned by MTG.

TV7, a new tv channel, owned by the old swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. The newspaper, Aftonbladet have been existing since the year 1811. Aftonbladet today is owned by LO, a workers union.




TV8 is a sister channel to TV6 and TV3 and is also sent from London. It started to send 1997 and was later owned by MTG.

Kanal 9 is a sister channel to Kanal 5, sent from London but owned by the German company ProSiebenSat. 1 Media.

Visby

Visby is the residential city/capital of Gotland. The city is surrounded by a medieval city wall, (Visby Ringmur). Many buildings of the town is very old and therefore it has been added to the UNCESCO list of world heritage.
